Volume begins with documents dated 14 Nov. 1777 and continues chronologically through Oct. 7, 1778 (so volume contents stand alone and is complete unto itself). Extensively detailed 16 pp. index at rear with hundreds (thousands) of specific searchable names and topics such as "continental money", Indians, troops, George Washington, and endless others. Attractive antiquarian 1/2 leather binding, smooth spine, gilt title lettering on contrasting leather labels, marbled covers. Volume 6 of a larger set. Contents complete unto themselves. Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Binding visibly age worn but still appealing, leather dried and scuffed, joints broken but covers remain fairly sturdy and held by binding cords and hinges, remains overall entirely attractive for what it is and how it was originally bound in sheep. Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, internally book remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but may/ does not look like new. Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
