A Table of Interest at Six Per Cent. II. A Table of the Weight & Value of Coins, as they pass in the respective States of the Union, with their Sterling and Federal Value. III. A Table shewing the amount of Cents, &c. York [Pennsylvania]: Printed by Salomon Myer for Mathew Carey of Philadelphia, 1798, 191 p, original tree calf leather binding measures 6.75 x 4 , 18mo. In fair condition. Front board detached from binding. Boards are normally scuffed at edges and worn/bumped at corners. Head and tail of spine scuffed. Front end-page torn at fore-edge. Front fly-leaf attached at head of gutter only - fragile. Toning throughout text-block with scattered age-staining. Rear hinge beginning to crack at head and tail. Binding of text-block remains intact. Please see photos and ask questions, if any, before purchasing. Daniel Fenning (1715 1767) was an English schoolmaster and grammarian. He wrote fourteen popular textbooks, mainly on mathematics, geography and spelling. Many of these books were used in the British colonies in North America. Fenning was a consummate teacher, and his books are pedagogically structured to guide learners into their subjects. One of his first writing ventures was the 1751 The Young Algebraist s Companion, which was warmly received by the British public. A handy mercantile tool for trading goods and merchandise printed for the publisher and economist Mathew Carey (1760-1839). These reckoners were extremely popular in early America.
