Blue cloth with soiling and mottling, several vertical ripples to front board's cloth which appears to be a fault of manufacture than an age-related occurrence, front board's lettering quite dulled but legible, light fraying/wear at spine ends and board corners. Edges toned; deckle fore-edge; floral patterned endpapers with past owner's ink signature at top of front pastedown; some foxing and soiling to interior leaves with light moisture staining at top and bottom page margins. Binding is firm. A good+ copy but an early and presumably scarce yearbook for the small Spartanburg, South Carolina liberal arts college for women. With sewn-in blue ribbon page marker, b/w photographs and illustrations throughout including a number of full page b/w photo plates which retain foxed and/or toned tissue guards, and concluding twelve page advertising section for mostly local businesses catering to student commerce. Converse College was founded in 1889 and this class annual would be for the school's eleventh year of operation and issued while still under the tenure of its first president Benjamin F. Wilson and with Albert H. Twichell as President of the Board of Trustees.
