Add to basket10" x 8" homemade paperbound photo-book of twenty 3" x 5" snapshot photographs, captured en route to the National Electric Light Association Convention of 1912. "A Memory of 1912" handwritten in black ink on the cover. The cover also indicates the date of composition as January 1, 1913 by the hand of Ward Harrison. Title page indicates the trip as "Through the Rockies on the Pink Special En Route For the N.E.L.A. Convention - Seattle, Washington - June 1912" All photos are annotated and include: East from the Three Sisters, through the Bow River Valley, Wind Mountain from the train, Buffalo Herd (in) Canadian National Park, Lake Louise, Bow River from Banff Hotel, Little Beehive, on the trail to Mirror Lake, Summit of Mt. Victoria, party of Government Rangers at Lake Agnes, Mt. Stephen and the Valley of the Ricking Horse, Great Glacier, through the Selkirks, Illecillewaet Valley from the Great Glacier, through the gorge on the Fraser River, etc. Ward Harrison, member of N.E.L.A. and creator of this album, was a graduate with honors with a masters degree in mechanical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, in Hoboken, New Jersey, in 1909. He went on to contribute to the design of industrial, commercial and street lighting fixtures. He spent the entirety of his career at GE's Nela Park at the GE headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. This paper bound album is composed of gray deckled paper bound by twine. Beautifully constructed, consistent, and comprehensive. In fine condition. Edge wear along the cover, otherwise in very good condition.
