The organization called itself either “The Roycrofters” or “The Roycroft Shops,” and they printed, not only magazines, but also handsome, sometimes eccentric, books printed on handmade paper and bound finely. The group also operated a furniture shop, and a shop dedicated to producing modeled leather and hammered copper goods. The Roycroft Shops became a site for meetings and conventions of radicals, freethinkers, reformers, and suffragists. Hubbard, himself, became a popular lecturer at these meetings, and championed for socialist governments and free thinking. Original dust jackets.
