This is a vintage baseball scrapbook that documents the 1935 MLB season of the Boston Braves with multiple BABE RUTH mentions in both headlines and box scores. 1935 was Ruth's last season - he played only 28 games, with his final at-bat coming on May 30, 1935. Headlines include "Babe Hero," "Babe Ruth Hits Trio of Homers - His Third Longest Drive Ever Delivered in Pittsburg," "Ruth Fans Three Times," "Babe Homers, Makes Two Great Catches," and "Paul Waner Robs Ruth." Fifty-four of the pages contain one or more newspaper clippings. The scrapbook was nicely put together by a 6th grader named "Jack" - many of the clippings were neatly folded so that they're easily able to be folded in/out to reveal the entire clipping/headline. There are nine pages of handwritten box scores in pencil of (presumably) regional Little League baseball teams. Aside from Ruth, other Hall of Fame players mentioned in the clippings include LOU GEHRIG, Jimmie Foxx, Dizzy Dean, Hank Greenberg, Al Simmons, Joe Cronin, Mel Ott, Rabbit Maranville, Bill Dickey, Joe Medwick, Lefty Gomez, Bill Terry, Arky Vaughan, Paul Waner, Red Ruffing, Ernie Lombardi, Frankie Frisch, Chuck Klein, Earl Averill.and possibly others. Condition: Soiling and staining to the covers and spine (please see photos). Cloth tears at the top and bottom edges of the spine, and along the left and right edges of the spine. Cloth tears at the top 2 cover corner tips. Both covers and all pages are securely attached. Two blank pages have been removed at the back. An occasional random pages has a child's drawing in pencil. The rear pastedown has math equations at the top half of the page. Nearly all of the clippings are securely attached - only a few were found either completely or partially detached. Foxing to the end papers and pastedowns. Light pink-ish stain along the perimeter of the front end paper and pastedown. Overall the scrapbook is in Fair condition.
