10.5 x 8 in. 20 pp. Ruled notebook with heavy brown paper wraps and metal spiral-binding. Both sides of wraps and rectos of all interior leaves lavishly decorated with contemporary paper labels from a variety of household and toiletry product brands. Covers feature metallic samples of Gilbert clock faces encircled by labels for Schrafft's condiments and jams. Front wrapper has some staining and tearing at edge closest to spine. Creasing and slight wrinkling to wraps. Previous owner's ink inscription to top edge front wrapper: "November 16, 1957 / Sat. Night / At My Sweetheart's house / My Life . My Queen / Bob / Loves / Marcie." Text block is composed of blank, margin-ruled leaves, with decorative product labels collaged neatly and artistically in circular arrangements. Some browning and adhesive residue scattered throughout, many un-adhered labels laid in, slight tearing at lower inside corner of some leaves. Labels in the collection include brands such as Avon, Aqua Velva, Jergens, and Cutex, with most featuring shiny, metallic, decorative elements- a charming example of Atomic Age advertising design.
