About this Item
A beautiful 1999 special section of the Baltimore Sun newspaper featuring four vintage Richard Q. Yardley cartoons, including a large cartoon on the front page. The front-page cartoon documents the event in 1910 when the Sun paid an aviator $500 to fly the first airplane over Charm City, comparing that event to the glut of air traffic at the time. the cartoon is undated but the illustration depicts propellor planes of the post WW II-1950s era. Inside are three more smaller cartoons along with a biography of the famed artist, along with documentaries and cartoons of other Sun cartoonists of the 20th Century. Very Good. Due to a printing error, the bottom of the text at the bottom of the front page is missing. Perfect for framing and display!. Seller Inventory # 13490
