32 pages with diagrams Royal octavo (9 1/4" x 6 1/2") bound in original publisher's pictorial wrappers. First edition. The United Incandescent Lamp and electrical Company, Ltd and the Chess composition Committee of the Hungarian Chess Federation announced their first common competition on the field of composition of chess problems in September 1977. the competition, which took place in three categories, was followed by wide international interest. Besides the two most popular types of chess problems-which is the composition of two-mover problems on one hand and the composition of helpmate problems in two moves on the the other, - in the third category the participants had to create chess problems resembling the well known Tungsram emblem: the block-letter T. The number of participants from four continents of the world amounted to 252 entries. The works submitted to the competition contained 830 chess problems. The first prize and cup winner was Jan Valuska of Czechoslovakia follow by Laszlo Apro of Hungary. Condition: Light edge wear. A better than very good copy. Bookseller Inventory # BOOKS008323
