About the Author

John G. Bartlett, MD, is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland. He served as Chief of the Infectious Disease Division at the School for 26 years, stepping down in July of 2006. Joel E. Gallant, MD, MPH is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Professor of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Paul A. Pham is a Research Associate on the faculty of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Paul Pham received his undergraduate degree from University of Maryland in 1993 and ears his doctor of pharmacy at the University of Mississippi in 2000.
