2042: Artemis Rising

"A nuanced, captivating examination of what the near future might have in store." - Kirkus Reviews

2042 is a cautionary tale of the future of media.

Katherine Tanaka is the head of Corporate Communications at Artemis, the global powerhouse that holds the monopoly on casting, the now dominant form of New Media. Whether it is sports, education, entertainment or, umm, porn, nothing can come close to a cast. Oh, and the advertising is also hyper-effective. So much so that it is regulated by the FDA.

Behind her back, Katherine's freedom-loving boyfriend, Harbrinder, is working to break the company's grip, uncovering troubling facts about life under Artemis while being the nicest sociopath you'll ever meet. As the story unfolds, we discover that Katherine is being manipulated by her boyfriend, her company, and her government. Soon Katherine is forced to make a choice between truth and stability that will impact the entire planet.

Katherine’s journey provides the backdrop for an exploration of contemporary questions around government control, corporate influence, consumerism, an indifferent populace, and a handful of people determining the media we all consume.
