सौदागर, चोर मचाए शोर, दुलहिन वही जो पिया मन भाये, राम तेरी गंगा मैली, हिना जैसा लोकप्रिय फिल्मों के संगीत-निर्देशक रवींद्र जैन लोकप्रिय संगीतकार होने के साथ एक बहुत अच्छे गीतकार और गायक भी हैं। अलीगढ़ में जन्मे रवींद्र जैन जन्मांध हैं लेकिन कभी इसको अपने रास्ते का बाधा नहीं बनने दिया। इलाहाबाद से संगीत प्रभाकर की उपाधि पाकर वे मुंबई आए और हिंदी फिल्म जगत में अपने संगीत का सिक्का जमाया। फिल्मों के अतिरिक्त टेलीविज़न धारावाहिक रामायण, श्रीकृष्ण, अलिफ़-लैला का भी संगीत-निर्देशन किया। उनके कई गैर-फिल्मी एलबम भी हैं। रवींद्र जैन जितने अच्छे संगीतकार हैं उतने ही अच्छे गीतकार और शायर भी हैं। उनके बारे में प्रसिद्ध कवि गोपालदास 'नीरज' का कहना है: "श्री रवींद्र जैन की ग़ज़लों पर नजर डालते हैं तो यह देखकर बहुत आश्चर्य होता है कि जिसने कभी उर्दू ज़बान पढी ही नहीं, उसने कैसे ऐसी ग़ज़लें और शे'र कहे जो उस्तादों द्वारा कहे जाते हैं।" इस पुस्तक में प्रस्तुत उनकी ग़ज़लें, नज़्में और शे'र आपको बहुत पसंद आएंगे।
