About the Author
Maurice Patrick Roche is one hundred percent of Irish ancestry, born in Detroit Michigan on January 10th 1924. He attended St. John Berchman's grade school and Denby high school. He joined the Marines in World War II and fought on Guadalcanal and Tarawa. He was wounded three times. In 1946 he married Ellen Lane Boss, they have eleven children and twenty-four grand children, Maury was a pilot, and he did wing walking at air shows. He retired from the Detroit Fire Department as Chief of Communications after forty-three years service.
