5 Steps Back: Part One: The Introduction

Welcome to Royal Oasis, where luxury meets secrets, loyalty is tested, and one wrong decision can change everything.

Behind the beautiful homes, successful businesses, and influential families lies a community filled with complicated relationships, buried truths, betrayal, and second chances.

Malcolm Harvest V comes from a powerful family, but when a confrontation lands him in a court-ordered pretrial program, he finds himself surrounded by people whose choices have brought them face-to-face with consequences they can no longer avoid.

At the Royal Oasis Community Center, participants in the Managing Anger, Stress, and Conflict (MASC) program are challenged to examine their decisions, confront uncomfortable truths, and discover whether real change is possible.

Meanwhile, Ms. Myra, a respected community leader with secrets of her own, navigates complicated family loyalties, forbidden relationships, and the return of her brother Kane after more than twenty years in prison.

From the courtroom to the community center, from family gatherings to private conversations, every character has a story to tell—and not everyone is telling the whole truth.

Five Steps Back is a gripping, character-driven drama exploring love, faith, family, deception, accountability, and redemption. Told through interconnected voices, this four-part series reveals how easily the choices we make can affect everyone around us.

Everyone has a past. Everyone has a story. And sometimes, moving forward begins with recognizing what took you five steps back.
