50 Tables: Innovations in Design and Materials (Pro Design)

Hundreds of color photographs, many taken especially for this book, reveal the state-of-the-art of the table as it has been distinctively interpreted by some of the most talented and accomplished designers in the world. The examples in 50 Tables: Innovations in Design and Materials have been chosen from the production of the past decade and are presented in a clear, graphic style with intentionally minimal text.
If you think of tables as solely utilitarian and practical tools, 50 Tables will no doubt expand your universe. They range from the highly engineered, intricate, and expensive to the practical, simple, and cheap. They inflate, extend, flip, rise, lower, or, for storage and transport, fold or come apart. Some are deadly serious designs while others are amusingly outlandish ones. And there are even tables sold only as legs for which you furnish the top surface.
The efforts of designers worldwide - including those from North and South America, Europe, Australia and Japan - are presented through means of a clear, colorful coded graphic system which was created to organize the examples into easy-to-find categories.
