- Book 3 of 3: Sovereign Engagement
When my mother was dying, she forced me to make a promise no son ever wants to make.
“No machines. No tubes. No heroics that only prolong suffering. And when I’m gone—scatter my ashes. No tombstone. No burden.”
Two weeks after I finished the manuscript you now hold, that promise was tested. Doctors pushed for intervention. My brother begged. My heart screamed to keep her here at any cost.
I honoured her wish.
It broke me… and it proved everything this book argues: True power is not the ability to force your will on reality. True power is the ability to remain aligned when everything inside you wants to break.
7 Sovereign Principles is the operating system for wielding power that deserves to endure.
Most books on strategy teach you how to win. This one teaches you how to win without becoming what you hate.
Inside these pages you’ll discover the seven non-negotiable principles that separate brilliant opportunists who eventually collapse (Enron, Wirecard, Theranos) from those rare leaders and organizations whose power compounds across generations (Mayo Clinic, Berkshire Hathaway, the U.S. Constitution, Taiwan’s digital democracy).
The 7 Sovereign Principles:
- Virtue as the North Star – Declare the values you will defend even if it costs you everything
- The Meta-Rule of Integrity – When in doubt, return to the Core (the immune system against ethical drift)
- The Law of Right Process – Fair rules that reliably produce good outcomes at scale
- The Most Acceptable Outcome – Legitimacy > domination (why crushing your enemy often creates your next war)
- Just Cause in Action – Every exercise of power must be defensible to self and others
- Consistency as Proof – Your track record is the only evidence your principles are real
- The Responsibility of Design – Build systems that make good behaviour easy and bad behaviour costly… long after you’re gone
This is not another “nice guys finish last” takedown. This is the proof—historical, philosophical, and brutally practical—that ethics is the highest form of strategy.
Pair it with the tactical playbook The 7 Principles of Engagement (the companion volume) and you possess the complete system: Dogma in constitution. Pragmatism in execution. A compass that never wavers and a ship that adapts to any storm.
Rooted in the timeless wisdom of the I Ching, Daoism, Confucianism, and the hard-won lessons of leaders who built institutions that outlasted them, 7 Sovereign Principles is for:
→ Founders who refuse to sell their soul for the next round
→ Executives building companies that will still stand in 50 years
→ Strategists tired of winning battles only to lose the war
→ Anyone who has ever felt the gap between who they are and what “success” seems to demand
The world will tell you that power requires compromise. This book proves the opposite.
Because while opportunism burns bright and fast, virtue compounds slowly and endures.
Heaven’s Way is without delusion. Follow it, and you build power not only that lasts… but that deserves to.
Scroll up and claim the operating system for ethical power now.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
