7 Steps to Better Written Policies and Procedures is an easy to read and use books that teaches you how to add content to each section of the writing format template (for policy or procedure documents) that I provide to you free when asked.
This 7 step writing format has recently been updated with a new step. The steps in this book include:
Purpose
Scope
Policy
Definitions
Responsibilities
Procedures
Document Approvals
Revision History
Additional content can be added into Appendices. The originators of the policy and procedure program can add sections or change the names of the section headings. However, it is important to note that the idea of a successful program is consistency; therefore if you say add a section and now have 9 sections, try to keep 9 sections for every document. You do not want to confuse the reader. Consistency will make you successful.
I get regular requests from large groups of people in departments for this book because it is so easy to use. I provide opening sentences for each section headings. I provide the "DO's" and "DON'Ts" for each section heading. I provide you with scenarios and exercises to help you learn.

I have since written four more books; each one building on the earlier one. I currently sell five books on the Internet (companymanuals.com). I sell to more than 134 countries and have consulted for the US State Agencies, State Departments, and several Foreign Governments. I have been writing policies and procedures for large and small companies for the past 38 years. My books include:
