84 Days: The Fall

She tried to save a life. It nearly cost her her own.

It was past eleven on a Tuesday night in March 2015 when Shardae Burt made a decision that would change everything. Believing she was helping someone in need, the thirty-year-old single mother of two drove toward Ohio. Hours later, she found herself surrounded by police, arrested, and accused of crimes connected to armed robbery and murder.

What followed were eighty-four days behind bars—days filled with fear, betrayal, uncertainty, and the devastating possibility of losing the life she had worked so hard to build.

In this raw and deeply personal memoir, Shardae recounts the night that altered her future, the harsh reality of incarceration, and the emotional battle to hold on to her identity when the world had already decided who she was.

84 Days: The Fall is more than a story about jail. It is a powerful testimony about motherhood, survival, accountability, faith, and what happens when one decision becomes the dividing line between the person you were and the person you must become.

This is where the fall begins.

But it is not where her story ends.
