Synopsis
It has been two years since Thomas Ryan revealed his translation of The Letter written at the hand of Jesus Christ. Ryan is back at it again. The rift between Ryan and the Church could not be repaired, which resulted in his resignaton (laicization) from the priesthood. But his resignation did not mean he was done with his quest for the truth and he remained faithful to his belief that "the truth will set you free." Nor did it mean that the supernatural was done with Thomas. Along came Gabriel and Gabriel tested, enlightened and offered Thomas the ultimate challenge. Ryan's surrealistic visit with Peter, James, John and Matthias opened his eyes to the meaning of everlasting life. His encounter with Uriel made clear the meaning of the Trinity as well as an insight to Jesus Christ's divinity and humanity. But it was Ryan's test with an apocalypse stallion that served as a precursor to the ultimate challenge-a challenge no human had ever before faced. A challenge whose first step was the point of no return. If Thomas stumbled or lost faith, he would never return. But if he remained noble as Cicero and faithful to the truth, he might survive the challenge and return with the answer to the mystery of Gabriel's Stone.

About the Author
This is Thomas Miller's second novel and can be considered somewhat a sequel to The Letter. But it also stands alone, and reading the first is not necessary. Miller's approach is to mix fact (which requires considerable research) and fiction as seamlessly as possible. He allows his characters to act out in ways that are not fixed in stone. Miller brings his characters to life and then gets out of their way, which allows him to enjoy the same mystery as readers since he is not sure what may happen next. Miller lives in Madison, Wisconsin with his wife Nicki, a sweet Cavalier King Charles dog and one ornery cat. He has three children and four grandchildren.
