Synopsis

Recently diagnosed with a terminal disease, Bruce Campbell unexpectedly finds himself the owner of a small valley in the Canadian Rocky Mountains as the result of a bequest from his grandfather. In Canada, Bruce arrives at "Campbell's Kingdom" to find its existence under threat from the construction of a new dam. Convinced that his grandfather was right and that the valley may be rich in oil, Bruce must prove it. Standing in his way is a corrupt construction contractor. About the Author:

Hammond Innes was born in Sussex in 1913. He has now written thirty international bestsellers, all of which are now being reissued by Pan. It was in the early fifties, with books like The Lonely Skier, Campbell's Kingdom, The White South and The Wreck of the Mary Deare, all of them filmed, that he achieved international fame. His most recent novel is Delta Connection (`rip-snorting adventure ... at a pace so cracking there is little time for reflection -- The Times).
