About the Author

William Horwood was born in Oxford and grew up on the south coast. After taking a geography degree at Bristol University, he became a journalist. His first novel, Duncton Wood, was published in 1980 and was followed by The Stonor Eagles, Callanish, Skallagrigg, Duncton Quest and Duncton Found. He recently completed Seekers at the WulfRock, the second volume in his bestselling new series, The Wolves of Time.

His position as one of Britain's best-loved storytellers has been confirmed by the success of The Willows in Winter, his acclaimed sequel to Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows, and the two equally popular subsequent volumes in the Tales of the Willows series, Toad Triumphant and The Willows and Beyond. Since beginning the sequence, he has received letters from hundreds of readers thanking him for recapturing the spirit of Grahame's great work.
