“What on earth is that bear up to now?” Mrs. Brown exclaimed.
Only a bear like Paddington could find himself taking a driving test by mistake, becoming a model at an art school, or being sawed in half at a magic show. No matter what adventures await, Paddington always comes through with flying colors.
Michael Bond is the author of all the books about Paddington Bear. His first book, A Bear Called Paddington, was published in 1958. In 1997, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to children's literature. In 2007, he was made an honorary doctor of letters by Reading University. He lives in London, not far from Paddington Station, with his wife, Sue, and a guinea pig named Olga da Polga.
