About the Author
Owen Johnson is Assistant Registrar to the Tree Register, and has spent the last ten years studying and recording trees at many hundreds of estates around Britain; he also manages a nature reserve for Sussex wildlife Trust. He is author of The Sussex Tree Book (1998) and The Kent Tree Book. David More has been a botanical illustrator for many years. His previous books include Collins Gem Trees.

Substantial and comprehensive guide to the trees of Britain and non-Mediterranean Europe, covering shape, height, leaf appearance, bark, buds, flowers, variants and similar trees. Identification is built in the text around diagnostic features, with over 1500 trees described. Even winter twigs are covered. A most huggable tome. Light creasing to wrapper edges in places, several minor indents to wrapper on rear cover, but overall a nice crisp copy. Near fine in at least VG dustwrapper. Very heavy book weighing c2700g when parcelled, exceeding the postage quotation default weight of 1000g and thus incurring extra postage over the default for orders from overseas and those sent in the UK.
