Not even a constant supply of peanut butter sandwiches helps when eight-year-old Kathy tries to find a temporary home for her cat Romeo while her family moves to England for a year.

Grade 2-4-- Kathy Spry has a problem. Her family is moving to London for a year, and she has to find the perfect home for her beloved cat, Romeo, while they are away. Kathy thinks best when eating peanut butter sandwiches, and this problem takes 15 of them to solve (hence the title). Despite the realistic situation and a likable heroine, the characters and plot are strictly ho-hum. Kathy spends the entire book going from neighbor to neighbor in search of Romeo's new home and finding something wrong with each one. The only bright spot is when she writes a letter to the queen of England begging for special permission to bring Romeo into the country. Queen Elizabeth writes back and gently explains why even queens can't allow foreign animals into England. A marginal purchase. --Janet E. Fricker, Warminster Township Free Library, PA
