Grade 1-3-This beginning chapter book celebrates the fears and joys of childhood through Little Rabbit's Saturday adventures with his friends Raccoon and Woodchuck. Murray's simple text is narrated with gentle humor and wit while Britt's bright, full-color cartoons extend the activities-tree climbing, birdhouse building, strawberry picking, and fishing. Five short chapters and a small format make this title a good first choice for novice independent readers. Edge-to-edge illustrations enable small group sharing as well.
