Laurie Rozakis has taken a potentially dubious subject and information enough to fill a small pocket book and pumped it up with laugh-out-loud anecdotes and extended jokes that navigate readers safely through the real dilemmas of life with in-laws.
Rozakis, a professional writer with many self-help and reference books under her belt, gives good advice on making a positive impression ("Guys, put on clean underwear. I know this is tough because some of you are very attached to your undies, but work with me here."), dealing with family holidays, understanding family power structures, and coping with parenting pressure ("So when are you going to start a family?") and disapproval about your parenting style. Cute drawings, snippets of interesting trivia, and helpful hints round out this tome that is not just for the complete idiot.
