As a Korean national, the author presents his country sympathetically, and as a Harvard MBA, he does this analytically. Kang is now an assistant to the president of Intel Japan. This breezy, handy little book, however, is too loosely presented to be clear to novices, though they will appreciate his attention to Korea's past and present. Asian experts will question his facile historical explanations, though they will appreciate his often intriguing insights into Korean personalities and the contrasts with Japanese ways of doing business. To supplement basics in an already solid international management collection, the book is koenchanoyo , a wonderful Korean phrase meaning "good enough" or "close but no cigar."
