Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Nicholas Gaetano (illustrator). 1st Edition. 8vo. (24 cm.) unpaged (44p.). Profusely (!) illustrated in full color water color sketches by Nicholas Gaetano. Green paper over boards with yellow letters on the spine. Just hints of wear to extremities, else fine with clean covers, bright letters, and not internal markings. Dust jacket has a short tear up from the bottom of the front panel, else near fine to fine and not price-clipped. This is a book of Iroquois transformation tales retold by Hettie Jones. She was born in Brooklyn and educated at Mary Washigton College of the Univeristy of Virginia. She was a freelance writer, teacher and the manager of the Partisan Review. She wrote many books for young people, including the following: POEMS NOW, THE MOBILIZATION EXPERIENCE and THE TREES STAND SHINING. Nicholas "Nick" Gaetano was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and educated at the Art Center College of Design. The winner of numerous awards for his designs, Gaetano created the 35th Anniversary Edition cover art for the works of Ayn Rand. LONGHOUSE WINTER was the first book Gaetano illustrated. His technique is geometric, very tightly controlled watercolor which incorporates some original designs used by the Iroquois in their crafts. Seller Inventory # 007990
