Synopsis
A Sleeper Agent is highly trained, totally dedicated secret agent placed in a country by a foreign power well in advance of any contemplated action. He will marry, work and wait for the day his native land will call upon him to carry out, at any risk, any task demanded, whether his wait as a Sleeper is years, or decades. The story opens in Germany on a Bavarian mountain estate. It is April 18, 1945. The war in Europe is coming to an end, and a young German, Rudi, is being assigned his mission. He is destined for Sleeper action in the United States. In Bayreuth, CIC Agent Tom Jaeger discovers a document which sets him on Rudi's trail. The chase finally takes him to Denmark, where he tracks down the man who is Rudi's contact and tricks him into revealing Rudi's vital mission. It is in Copenhagen, amid the chaos and joy of liberation that Tom at last runs his target to ground.
