A bunk bed feels rejected and runs away from home when the twins who sleep on the top and the bottom stay up past their bedtime.

From School Library Journal:
PreSchool-Grade 2-- Bosco is a bunk bed that twins Ned and Nan share. One night, they are two hours late for bed. Convinced he has been abandoned, Bosco runs away. When the children finally arrive in their room, they are disconsolate, preferring to sleep on the floor than in another bed. They awaken about midnight to a loud, black shape outside their window--the lonely object has returned. The watercolors, highlighted with pen outlines and crosshatchings, are so bright and clear that they well suit this silly nighttime fantasy. The layout, with pictures framed by a defined border and occasional circular insets of the action, is somewhat reminiscent of the design in Sendak's In the Night Kitchen (HarperCollins, 1970). While this is a less amibitious book, it is a delightful romp before bedtime, told in rollicking rhyme. --Ruth K. MacDonald, Purdue University Calumet, Hammond, IN
