Grade 2-3-- A young cat spends the day at her father's busy office and manages to make 33 copies of her drawing, spill the mail cart as she "flies" through the president's office door (where he welcomes her to Flying Cat Airlines and presents her with wings), and endears herself to the other office workers. After a lunch with her father at a restaurant on the twenty-fifth floor, the two leave the office and see an afternoon movie before taking the commuter train home. The story is interesting, and bits and pieces of office life are conveyed. The illustrations in gentle washed tones amplify the text and add humorous touches, as well as some realistic ones: a woman dressed in an executive suit wears tennis shoes on the train, and a lame cat begs for money on a street corner while another cat slumbers on the sidewalk.
