Red cloth covers with gilt sp. lettering, no obvious faults. xv + 204, faint hint of edge-tanning but this could be common to most copies as due to paper, tanning flecks and sm. patch to sp. end of top text-block edge, otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. Unclipped jacket has just a hint of top fr.edge rubbing otherwise clean and unmarked, will add protective sleeve when ordered. The notebooks run from January 1938 to February 1939, the period during which he was radically re-thinking his earlier position. First French edition was 1945.
