Whatever may be the reader's attitude and practice in the "team approach" for treating the child with cleft palate, Stark's treatise includes every facet of the subject. Nineteen authors have contributed to the volume, each well versed in his special field. The authors are staff members of the services which make up the St. Luke's Cleft Palate Clinic. Most of the 302 illustrations are line drawings of operative procedures and techniques, but preoperative and postoperative photographs and some photographic details at operation are included. The drawings are precisely done, insuring a clearer picture of the surgical details than is possible even by photography.
