Reviews

PreSchool-Grade 2—Pinkalicious receives white ice skates from her mother, and, using a "cotton candy pink" marker, she remakes them to better suit her tastes. After daydreaming about her graceful skating, she and her family visit the outdoor rink. Rather than gliding and spinning, poor Pinkalicious falls repeatedly. Her embarrassment is further compounded when the ink from her skates bleeds all over, leaving the ice covered in pink swirls and spots. Following an emotional meltdown, Pinkalicious receives a pep talk from Mom and a hand from Dad. She gives skating another go, this time with more positive results. Fans will be tickled pink with this adventure that's just right for beginning readers.—Laura Butler, Mount Laurel Library, NJ
