From School Library Journal:
Grade 7-9 This satisfying conclusion to the ``Bestiary'' trilogy (Bestiary Mountain 1985 and The Secret of the Round Beast 1986, both Bradbury completes the suspense built up in the first two books with the decisive battle of organic vs. inorganic: the fight between the genetically created Round Beast of Old Earth against the supercomputer Forbidden Beast of Luna. A well-annotated list of main characters at the beginning of the book allows one to read this book without benefit of the others, but the characters are more fully fleshed out if the entire series has been read. Telling the story through alternating chapters of Old Earth and Luna offers readers a glimpse of the thought process of each ``Beast'' and heightens suspense over their final battle. This should be purchased to conclude the trilogy. Pam Spencer, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Fairfax County, Va.
