About the Author:

Ronald K. Jurgen was formerly a senior editor at IEEE Spectrum, where he specialized in automotive and consumer electronics writing and editing. Jurgen is the editor of the Digital Consumer Electronics Handbook (McGraw-Hill, 1997), the Society of Automotive Engineers� (SAE) Progress in Technology series of books on automotive electronics (now being published), and their three-volume history of automotive electronics (1998). He is also an assistant editor of the Electronics Engineers� Handbook, 4e (McGraw-Hill, 1998).
