Clean, tight, square and bright first American edition bound in illustrated boards, with black titles on spine and front cover, illustrated endpapers. Gift inscription on ffep, else fine. Dust jacket is unclipped ($6.95), protected in removable mylar, worn at forecorners, spine, and top edge, with closed tears of 1 1/2" at head of spine, 1" at foot of spine and rear bottom forecorner, 3/4" on bottom edge of rear panel. When young Michael is asked if he would prefer his pending sibling to be a brother or a sister, he responds "I would rather have a bicycle."
