The Canadian Edition of Social Problems & The Quality of Life has a unique focus of ‘social solutions for social change’. Each chapter has either a section or pedagogical element addressing how various social problems can be addressed and how social action has made a difference to the quality of life. No other Canadian social problems text has this focus. In the first part of the text, the authors lay the groundwork by establishing key approaches to social problems. In the remaining sections, they discuss the social problems that most acutely influence our lives, and examine each problem for its impact on the quality of our lives.
