About the Author
Susannah Nelson Longenbaker After acquiring a B.S. in Biology from St. Mary's College n(Notre Dame, IN) and an M.S. in Physiology from Ohio State University, Sue Longenbaker began her educational career at Columbus State Community College, teaching biology and human anatomy and physiology. Dr. Sylvia Mader In her 22-year career with McGraw-Hill, Dr. Sylvia Mader has written an impressive collection of textbooks. Aside from seven editions of Understanding Human Anatomy and Physiology, she is the author of Biology, tenth edition; Essentials of Biology, second edition; Human Biology, eleventh edition; Concepts of Biology, first edition; and Inquiry into Life, thirteenth edition, through which she has successfully helped innumerable students learn biology as well as human anatomy and physiology.
