About the Author

Robert W. Day is a leading geotechnical engineer and chief engineer at American Geotechnical in San Diego, California. The author of over 200 published papers and two McGraw-Hill geotechnical engineering titles, he serves on the advisory committee for several professional associations, including ASCE, ASTM, and NCEES. Mr. Day is a registered civil engineer in several states and a registered geotechnical engineer in California.
