Richard Henderson lives on Gibson Island, Maryland, where he divides his time between his family, writing books and magazine articles, and sailing his Ohlson 38, Kelpie. A lifelong sailor, he has been a member of the Project Technical Committee of the American Boat and Yacht Council and a contributor to The Telltale Compass, the yachtsman's consumer affairs bulletin. Understanding Rigs and Rigging is his twentieth book about sailing, seamanship, and yachts.
