About the Authors

Rita Baron-Faust is an award-winning medical journalist and author of five books on women's health, and a regular contributor to the Rheumatology Network. She is an adjunct instructor in the department of Biology and Health Education at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY, and serves on the board of directors of the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association.
Jill P. Buyon, M.D., is director of the Division of Rheumatology and a professor of medicine at the New York University School of Medicine. She is the founder and director of the Lupus Clinic at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute in New York City. Dr. Buyon is Editor-In-Chief of the journal Lupus Science & Medicine and is a leading researcher in the field of neonatal lupus.
