Dr. Hermann F. Schwind, Saint Mary's University Dr. Schwind is Professor Emeritus (Human Resource Management) at Saint Mary's University in Halifax. He received his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia, BBA and MBA degrees from the University of Washington, and mechanical and industrial engineering degrees from German institutions. He has fifteen years of industrial experience and has taught as Visiting Professor at the University of Ottawa, in Japan at Sophia University in Tokyo, and at the Institute for International Studies and Training in Fujinomiya, a Japanese management training centre. ____Dr. Schwind was a founding member and Vice-President of the British Columbia Society for Training and Development, President of the Halifax and District Personnel Association (1984/86; now the Human Resource Association of Nova Scotia), and President of the Administrative Science Association of Canada (1989). In addition to co-authoring the present text on Canadian human resource management, now in its sixth edition, Dr. Schwind has published and presented over eighty articles and papers and contributed chapters to seven books. He also worked as a Human Resource Consultant for 25 years.
Dr. Hari Das (M. Sc., Ph.D. University of British Columbia) is a Professor at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, where he teaches human resource management, organizational change and research methodology. Dr. Das has served as Director of the MBA Program and Chair of the Department of Management and has received a teaching excellence award for his work in the EMBA program. In addition to his writing for Canadian Human Resource Management, Dr. Das has written Organization Theory with Canadian Applications, Strategic Organization Design: For Canadian Firms in a Global Economy, and contributed chapters to numerous other works.
Dr. Terry H. Wagar, Saint Mary's University Terry H. Wagar is a Professor of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations at Saint Mary's University. He is also a Research Associate at the National Institute of Labour Studies, Flinders University of South Australia. In 1999, he was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand. His degrees include an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto, a Master of Industrial Relations from Queen's University, an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa Law School, and a Ph.D. in labour relations, human resource management and statistics/research methods from Virginia Tech. ____Dr. Wagar has also taught at Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of South Australia. He has been the recipient of teaching awards at both the MBA and EMBA level. He was recently named the Atlantic Canada winner of the National Post's Leaders in Management Education award and was also the Association of Atlantic Universities Distinguished Teacher Award recipient for the year 2000. ____Dr. Wagar has published several articles in journals in Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand and his research has been presented at conferences in both North America and overseas. In addition, he has conducted training workshops and consulted with a number of organizations and unions. Dr. Wagar has received several awards for his research including the Saint Mary's University President's Award for Research Excellence. He is listed in the Canadian Who's Who 2001.
