About the Author

Uyless Black is President of Information Engineering Inc., a Virginia-based telecommunications consulting firm. He has designed and programmed a wide range of data communications systems, as well as voice and data networks. Previously he was a senior officer for the Federal Reserve, where he managed numerous large-scale data communications systems. Mr. Black has served as an advisor and consultant to many companies, including AT&T, Bell Northern Research, and Bellcore. He is the author of more than fifteen books and speaks frequently at numerous conferences such as COMDEX and INTEROP.
