Paper Back. Condition: Very Good. About the teaching of history at the University of Sydney. There are a number of illustrations, including a reproduction of a portion of a page from the newspaper, the Sydney Daily Telegraph of 27 November 1937, reviewing a book by Stephen Roberts, "The House that Hitler Built". Quote: "Already a vast, violent, and for the most part valueless literature grows around Nazi Germany. Professor Roberts, of Sydney University, viewing the German scene first-hand and dispassionately, provides one of the most useful summaries of it yet written. His conclusions are not very favourable. Germany is staking everything on a crazy plan of self-sufficiency. She hopes to make herself independent of the outside world for raw materials. It is an impossible hope - and its only purpose can be war. The return of her colonies would not help, says Professor Roberts." These are the opening paragraphs of quite a long article. Returning to the book, there is a piece on the Changing Curriculum from the 1960s to the 1990s; a piece of Poststructuralism and History; a piece on Women's History, and many other contributions. At the back of the book are lists of members of the teaching staff, of PhDs, MAs, and BA Honours. Multiple copies are available. The book is a little worn. 239 pages.
