Manufacturing techniques in the fur trade have radically changed over the last fifty years. Little has been done, however, to incorporate these techniques into a textbook to help those entering the industry for the first time.
A Handbook of Fur Craftsmanship takes account of these technological changes. It deals with basic modern methods of handling the most popular furs, and with basic designs. Manufacturing techniques covered include cutting, nailing or stapling, sewing and pattern cutting. The author's own illustrations highlight the processes and garments referred to in the text, and step-by-step instructions for the various techniques are given.
This practical book is designed for apprentices and students but it will also be a useful reference book for practitioners.
