From the backcover:
"Skilled ex-SAS tracker, Bob Carss, believes that with patience and dedication anyone can become a good tracker. This lively and informative book will show you how.
The art of tracking dates back to man’s earliest endeavours as a hunter and is still practiced today as a basic means of survival by such peoples as the Kenyan Masai and the Australian aborigines. Learning how to track also plays a major part in the training of members of elite military units such as the SAS. With its emphasis on observation, memory and analysis as well as physical ability, it is as skill which has a great deal to offer many professional and non-professional groups:
+ The military
+ The police
+ Mountain and cave rescue teams
+ Gamekeepers and farmers
+ Conservationalists
+ Nature enthusiasts
+ Outdoor pursuits leaders
+ Youth leaders and scouts
Detailed definitions of tracking terms, practice games and exercises, useful illustrations and a section of advanced skills make this comprehensive guide an excellent reference book for all levels of interest, from the eager amateur and the boy scout to those involved in the training of professional military and police trackers."
