About the Author
John Prater is an artist who lives and teaches in Portsmouth, England. In addition to writing and illustrating children?s books, he gives frequent talks and art demonstrations to school children throughout England. He is also author of several more Baby Bear books published in North America by Barron?s. They include Again!; Big Baby Bear Book; Number One, Tickle Your Tum; and Oh Where, Oh Where?.
John Prater studied art in Portsmouth and Brighton and worked as a teacher for many years before turning his attention to children's books. His first book, On Friday Something Funny Happened, was shortlisted for the Mother Goose Award in 1982. John Prater first got the idea for Baby Bear when he became a granddad and he has now written and illlustrated nine Baby Bear books. John Prater lives in Horndean, Hampshire.
