The nicest aspect of Steves book is that he doesnt hesitate to stop along the way to familiarize his reader with the practical aspects of telecommunications design, such as A/D and D/A conversion, pulse code modulation, and eventhe transmission characteristics of multilayer printed circuit boards. Where he feels it appropriate, he describes what type of lab equipment could be used to monitor or troubleshoot ISDN design.
