Crystallization is an important separation and purification process used in industries ranging from bulk commodity chemicals to specialty chemicals and pharmaceuticals. In recent years, a number of environmental applications have also come to rely on crystallization in waste treatment and recycling processes. The authors provide an introduction to the field of newcomers and a reference to those involved in the various aspects of industrial crystallization. It is a complete volume covering all aspects of industrial crystallization, including material related to both fundamentals and applications. This new edition presents detailed material on crystallization of biomolecules, precipitation, impurity-crystal interactions, solubility, and design.

The Handbook of Industrial Crystallization is the first to contain material related both to fundamentals and applications of crystallization. This book provides a foundation of fundamental information in the first four chapters, followed by chapters on specific applications such as precipitation, design agitation, and biomolecules.About the Author:
Allen S. Myerson is the Joseph and Violet Jacobs Professor and Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Polytechnic University. An internationally recognized expert in the field of crystallization, Dr. Myerson specializes in metastable solution structure and impurity crystal interactions. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. Prior to his position at Polytechnic University, he served on the faculty at the University of Dayton and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Myerson has published approximately 60 papers in technical journals and has edited one book.
